Motorolla Defy+ Gets Upgrade to Android Gingerbread2.3

The Motorola Defy+ has had a much needed upgrade from the Android Eclair 2.1 OS to Gingerbread 2.3, Motorola announced today. The upgrade also includes an IP67 graded water resistant dust proof design and a scratch resistant screen. In addition to these main upgrades the smartphone also boasts a 1Ghz Processor upgraded from 800 Mhz which, will enable Android to run faster and smoother and save battery power.

Many features of the phone remain the same including it’s HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. The hardware includes a 3.5mm headset jack, 5 Mega pixel autofocus camera and the memory includes a 2GB internal memory and MicroSD card support.

Overall the phone is getting plenty of much needed upgrades including fixes to bugs and has the some pretty neat features such as Google talk, water durable, better Android Gingerbread OS and a flash enabled browser for fast surfing and downloading. The release date for the Motorola Defy+ is set for the third week of September in Europe (Germany) and Asia at a price of €300.
